Position Overview
As a System Engineer at Kaseya, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex infrastructure systems. Your responsibilities will include working with Linux (Ubuntu or Redhat) environments, managing storage systems, configuring hardware, virtual machine administration, and utilizing Ansible for configuration management. Proficiency with Git for version control is also a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Linux Expertise: Utilize your strong knowledge of Linux, including Ubuntu or Redhat, to maintain and troubleshoot server environments.
- Storage Systems: Manage and maintain storage systems, including ZFS, RAID, LVM, and other storage technologies, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and high availability.
- Configuration Management (CM): Use Ansible for configuration management to automate and streamline system administration tasks.
- Git Version Control and CI/CD principles: Work with Git for version control, ensuring code and configurations are tracked effectively. Understanding of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) principles.
- Hardware Configuration: Set up and maintain hardware components, including servers and their IPMI controllers and network devices.
- Virtual Machine Management: Oversee virtualization technologies (KVM) and administer virtual machines for efficient resource allocation.
Nice to Have
- Software-Defined Storage (SDS): Familiarity with SDS solutions such as Ceph and Swift is a plus, as you may work on projects involving these technologies.
- OpenStack and Kubernetes: Knowledge of OpenStack and Kubernetes is advantageous.
- Alternative Configuration Management (CM) Tools: Experience with SaltStack and Puppet for configuration management is a plus.
- Gitlab: Familiarity with Gitlab for collaborative software development and CI/CD is a plus.
