Introduction.
This document outlines the duties and responsibilities of the DevOps team. This team will be dedicated to ensuring the reliability and redundancy of products. They will have in-dept knowledge of products and development practises. The team will be critical in mitigating and resolving production issues and developing stronger CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
DevOps – responsible for the infrastructure and tooling on all teams from when code is committed, to deployment in production (CI/CD). Assist teams in developing CI/CD best practises. Work closely with systems engineering teams across Kaseya/Datto. Work closely with R&D teams to enable them to work effectively with infrastructure. Responsible for developing tools and monitoring products and services after deployment (capacity of deployed services, load monitoring, health monitoring of services, automating scripts to execute on triggers), provide tools and solutions to assure desired reliability of
On-call operational support – Monitor code releases and infrastructure outages, provide 24/7 on-call to troubleshoot systems and fix issues in production. Troubleshoot infrastructure components including storage, network, servers, using elevated permissions in containerised environments. Be partners for IT Support in solving production incidents. Ability to parse large log files to identify issues.
Backend Software Development - You will support team in maintaining and developing tools, automation and monitoring for tools that are critical for productivity of software development teams and for services that provide data to customer facing products.
Must haves
- Excellent knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.
- Experience with containerisation such as Docker.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.
- Strong Linux systems engineering experience.
- Strong networking experience.
- Experience with monitoring software like Datadog, Zabbix, Kibana etc.
- Experience with Cloud Hosting Providers such as AWS/Azure.
- Proficient in at least one OOP languages PHP/Python/Go
Nice to have
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 years’ experience in a DevOps/SRE role.
- Strong security experience.
- Experience with UNIT testing.
- Experience with automation testing (selenium, playwright etc).
- Excellent knowledge of relational and document databases, MySQL, MongoDB etc.
- Excellent knowledge of OOP principles.
Soft skills
- You find yourself comfortable working under pressure.
- You’ve got strong communication skills, experience in working with different stakeholders.
- You demonstrate excellent problem-solving and goal-oriented attitude.
